New to Blogger

The main reason I started this blog is to track my progress on growing out a pixie cut.

This is my hair last year around February or June (I'm not sure, could be later).

I am trying to get my hair to the length in this picture. So far I am about three inches away from this length at the sides and two inches at the back. So to get to this length within the next three months or by the time I get back to school, I decided to put my hair in braids for three months. So far my hair has grown about half an inch in three weeks or so. Hopefully I can get the other few inches by the time summer vacation is finished. I'll post a picture again in August.

Using Braids As A Protective Style

Usually I hate putting on extensions or braids since you can't really treat most of them like you do your normal hair but they can be useful for protecting your hair when you want it grow. Protective hairstyles prevent damage caused by the sun or other elements from damaging your hair so they are very useful.

Moisturize!

If you're like me and you suffer from occasional dry hair I have a solution.

  • Coconut oil
  • Castor oil
  • Olive oil
  • Tea tree oil

Mix together and apply to hair. This is very oily so it should be applied sparingly.

Deep Conditioner

So I recently decided to start growing my my hair and realized that it is not that hard; you just have to treat your hair properly. So I put my hair in braids which should last for four months. I also deep condition at least once a week and moisturize every other day.

Deep Conditioner Recipe

  • Any creamy conditioner
  • Olive oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Castor oil
  • Tea tree oil

Mix the ingredients in a bowl and apply to hair generously. Leave in for half hour or longer then rinse.
